Recovery in Czech Industry

In 2009 the industrial production fell by 13.4% in the Czech Republic compared with 2008. Now it seems that it slightly recovers however in December 2009 it dropped by 0.4% compared with November 2009. The Czech automotive industry is in a recovery (contribution +3.6 p.p., growth by 30.2%), and manufacturing of chemicals and chemical products, partly due to low raw oil prices also shot up (contribution +1.1 p.p., growth by 48.4%) spectacularly. A related industry, the manufacturing of rubber and plastic products (contribution +0.8%, growth by 15.5%) goes hand-in-hand with the former flagship producers. However, machinery and equipment manufacturing (contribution 2.3 p.p., drop by 21.4%), manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products (contribution 1.1 p.p., drop by 24.5%) and other transport equipment (i.e. airplane construction components and rail vechicles, contribution 0.6 p.p., drop by 32.0%) are still suffering.
