FIA has published a comprehensive test on European public transport. The overall result are good, München is the only excellent in the list. The best Central European city is Wien (3) with affordable prices and very good quality, followed by Prague with neutral ratings in all categories but very low fares (4). Warsaw (16) fall behind Brussels and Amsterdam with long travel times and little passenger information but cheap services. Budapest (21), which once championed many similar surveys only excels Ljubljana and Zagreb with very bad transfers and information but relatively low prices. Bratislava which is a small city as a capital was not rated in the survey.
As the public transport sector opens up for competition and private enterprises, such comparisons clearly show the most lucrative markets and places for innovative competition.
