Bellona Company is one of the leading Polish publishers, both in terms of the number of published titles and revenues. Its competitive advantage lays in computer-aided typesetting, manufacturing and extensive network of sales representatives.
In the privatization tender a stake of 510 000 ordinary bearer shares are for sale, making up 85% of the share capital of the company with a nominal value of €1,269,900 ($1,795,200). The prices of the shares will up to negotiations. The Bellona SA achieved €124,000 ($176,000) net result in 2008. For further information a “Company Memorandum” should be purchased.
Based on an analysis By Kuba Frołow and Paweł Waszczyk growth in the publishing industry, combined with a favourable zero-per-cent VAT rate for books, means that western companies are showing rising investment interest in the Polish book market, which is enjoying stability. The level of readership is also stable, and similar to the European Union average.
